Introducing Andrew: A short video about Play Therapy

What is the difference between a Registered Art and Play Clinician and an “art therapist” or “play therapist”?
- As a Registered Art and Play Clinician, Veronica is trained in using art and play mediums in conjunction with the Medicare approved models of intervention such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psycho-Education, Interpersonal Therapy and Skills Training to address the presenting and primary issues as outlined in a client's counselling plan. The counselling plan and goals are reviewed regularly (every 6 sessions) with the active involvement of the client/s or referring parties.
Registered Art and Play Clinicians are required to hold registration or membership with an Australian clinical counselling board or association and are required to work in a confidential counselling setting.
Registered Art and Play Clinicians are trained to respond to Australian legal proceedings such as subpoenas for production of client files and subpoenas to give evidence in court.
Registered Art and Play Clinicians are trained to appraise and conduct evidence based qualitative and quantitative research in both art therapy and play therapy interventions
